MAORI ALL BLACKS
lUnrnlri CorrHsporidmit.)
A meeting of the Tolaga Bay Rugby Sub-Union was held on Monday night, those present being Messrs. 1. G. McCullough, chairman, D. Temple, u. Goodlay and R. Carpendale, secretary.
It was decided that the game With Waiapu on July 20 should be postponed and a game with lakapau was arranged lor that date.
A motion was carried, drawing the attention of the East Coast Rugby Union to the late advice received on the selection of the Maori All Blacks and also to the poor representation ol the Tolaga Bay sub-union in the East Coast representatives. The lack of advice as to when players should be nominated lor representatives, Maori and Coast, and the tact that the Tolaga Bay sub-union had no knowledge of the East Coast selector. were included in the motion, which was moved by Mr. McCullough and seconded by Mr. Temple. It was decided that a protest should be forwarded to the East Coast Rugby Union about the delay in com■pelling those players residing in this district"to" play in their proper district.
It was arranged that a game between Goodley's Rangers and the Takapau Juniors and a match between Country and Arero should be played at the Uawa Domain next Saturday, and that the gate money should be used for the benefit of any players hurt during the season in football matches, no player to receive more than £2 from this fund. It was further decided that this fund should be allotted at the end of the season, and the balance donated to the Tolaga district dental clinic fund. The manager's report on the visit of the junior team to Gisborne was received, and the team complimented on the good display.
The secretary was instructed to write to the East Coast Rugby Union with regard to the behaviour of one of the players in last Saturday's match, asking that an apology be tendered the line umpire.
