BURNED TO DEATH
FATE OF THREE CHILDREN ABSENCE OF PARENTS (Reed. July 11, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 10. During the absence of their parents at the home of a neighbour, three children, Shirley Croke, aged nine, Winifred Croke, aged seven, and David Croke, aged five, were burned to death in a wooden hut 19 miles from Camden last night. The parents and two elder daughters were playing cards at the neighbour’s house when the fire occurred. It was impossible to rescue the children owing to the flames having 100 great a hold when the fire was first discovered.
