POVERTY BAY RUGBY
H.5.0.8.’S MISFORTUNE
PLAYERS TRANSFERRED
Transfers of players from the district have taken a greater toll on members of the H. 5.0.8. senior Rugby team than injuries this season and their Poverty Bay Rugby Union fixture this afternoon, with Old Boys marked the final appearance of their wing three-quarter, Eric Grant, Grant has been transferred to a school in the north Aiickland district. Within recent weeks, W. Reed and W. Sherratt also have been lost to the leaders side, and the team has been making valiant efforts to keep its place at the top of the ladder. With the failure of the Y.M.P, club to field a team, the clubs drawn against the Maoris in the second round .will take, the decision by default. Today’s games were the second last in the second round. When the third round starts, .fresh arrangements will have to be made. The Marist B junior team thoroughly deserved the run against Celtic as the main curtain-raiser this afternoon by reason of their performance last week against the competition leaders, Old Boys B. The early results at 2.30 p.m. were as follows: JUNIORS Celtic 6 v. Marist B 3. Jligh School 14 v. Old Boys A 6. Marist A ll v. H. 5.0.8. A nil.
