WAR RELIEF FUND GRANTS
NEARLY £700,000 TOTAL AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION Since tho establishment of the funds in 1915, nonily £700.000 has been distributed to disabled ex-servicemen nr tiic-ir dependants by the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association, according to a statement by the chairman of the executive. Sir James Giinson, at the annual meeting, lie said consideration would shortly be given to a suggestion for utilising the remaining balance of the fund to provide for permanent assistance for ex-servicemen iu. need.
Sir .fames said that expenditure during the year amounted to £BBOO and the funds of the association had been reduced by £SBBO. leaving a credit balance in the side and wounded soldiers fund of £21,20(1. Ao undertaking had ■been given om.'behalf of the association that the fund would foe administered over a period of 21 years, and the trust had literally been carried out.
