Press comment on Saturday’s match, in which the Kiwis were defeated by 21 points to 12 by Queensland, emphasises Queensland’s superiority in the second half, tout all praise the improved standard of the Kiwis, not all of which was due to the revised play-the-toall rule.
So much better was the side in the first half that the critics agree that the Kiwis’ tally should have been at least six points closer to Queensland s score.
