TOKOMARU BAY MATCHES UNITED BEAT TAWIIITI 2 PLAYERS ORDERED OFF (Herald Correspondent.) United 13pts. Tawhiti 3pts. The second game of the third and final round of the club championship was played in Tokomaru Bay on Saturday between United and Tawhiti and resulted in a win for United by 13 points to three. The weather was fine, the ground ip good condition, but again the football was of a low standard. The first suell saw nothing much of interest 'except the ordering off of a Tawhiti player just before the call of time, which saw no score on either side. The second spell opened a little more briskly and another Tawhiti player was ordered from the field soon after the start. Tawhiti opened the scoring account with a penalty kick by Tuhou. This seemed to put a little life into the United men and with only 20 minutes to go, Colbert, who was taking part in his first game this season, showed his men that with a little ginger the opponents’ line could be crossed, scoring a nice try, for McLean to convert—United five, Tawhiti three.

Now that the Blue and Whites had been shown the way Tawhiti were overwhelmed, tries being scored in quick succession by Turei and Hikitapu, Colbert converting the latter, making the final score. United 13, Tawhiti three.

The United juniors tasted their first defeat this season at the hands of a combined Tawhiti anld Waima team, by 11 points to six. Mr. P. Fairlie was the referee.

A good attendance of the public m Tolaga Bay on Saturday afternoon was treated to one of the best games of the season, Arero defeating Hauiti by three points to nil. As the scores indicate, the teams were well matched, and both sides played good, solid football. The deciding points 'for Arero were secured by J. Brown, who kicked a splendid goal from a penalty award. In a game in which all played well, it is difficult to individualise, but S. Wharepapa, among the Arero forwards, and B. Noanoa, for Hauiti, were most prominent. "Mr. B. Huaki controlled the game.
