TWO RECENT AUCTIONS More than usual interest has been shown in the Gisborne district lately in the small farm market, and much inquiry is made for any properties placed on the market.
Two places which were auctioned recently were disposed of under the hammer to keen competition. They were offered by Mr. Fred Berwick, in conjunction with Messrs. Ball and Crawshaw.
A freehold property offered yesterday was of 37 acres at Matawhero, including a good house and other buildings. It was knocked down at £3050, or approximately £B2 10s an acre. The bidding started at £ISOO, and witli five different prospective buyers operating, tlie price soon reached the final figure. Another farm offered recently was of 53 acres on the Bushmere road and with the usual farm buildings. It was an L.I.P. place at £1 3s an acre, and it brought £2IOO for the goodwill
