Electricity revenue for the two months ended May 31 was reported on to the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board to-day by the managing secretary, Mr. R. P. Baigent, as under: —
Lighting, £4247 (1937, £4192); heating and cooking, £3392 (£3399); waterheating, £llOO (£980); power, £1495 (£1417); total for the two months, £10,234 (1937, £9988). The chairman, Mr. F. R. Ball, commented that electricity revenue was not holding up quite as well as had been hoped. He feared the board had been a little optimistic in its estimates for the year.
