“WEAR MORE WOOL”
S. AFRICA JOINS CAMPAIGN JOHANNESBURG, March 21. The Union of South Africa has joined in the international publicity campaign to increase the consumption of wool. Australia and New Zealand are also associated with this campaign. The “wear more wool’’ drive in South Africa has just been inaugurated in a broadcast speech by the Governor-General, Sir Patrick Duncan, which was relayed from "every Union radio station. Sheep farming is South Africa's major agricultural activity, and is, in fact, the country’s second most important industry. The value of wool exports last year was £13,009,000 though the figure has been as high as £15,000,000.
