FUNERAL IN MANUTUKE
LATE MRS. H. KAPHA RANG I (IliTnlil tforrespon The funeral of the late Mrs. Horiana Kapuarangi took place at Manutuke yesterday afternoon. The deceased was well-known throughout this district, as well as Mahia and Wairoa. Great difficulty was experienced in bringing the 'body from Wellington. It was' originally intended that the funeral should take place at Whakaki. From Napier the body was brought to Gisborne by boat and was to have been taken overland to Wairoa, but on arrival here it was found that all roads to Wairoa were blocked, and so it was decided to bury the body in the Manutuke cemetery. The service at the pa prior to the removal of the body to the cemetery was largely attended and was conducted by the -Rev. K. T. Harawira.
