A fall of 28in. of rain was recorded by Mr. 11. Guthrie-Smith at Tutira during the flood period a week ago. In 1917. Mr. Guthrie-Smith's gauge overflowed twice, ad a fall of more than 20in. was recorded. The guagc which Mr. Guthrie-Smith is now using records up to 20in.
