While cranking his car in Hamilton, Mr. Victor Lynds, aged 40, of Matangi, collapsed and died. Mr. Lynds, who was a married man, had been living in the district for many years, and was engaged in the carrying business. Some 30 huge slips, negotiable only on loot, bicycle, or horse, block the main road to Wairoa between Whirinaki and Tangoio.
