SEAMAN UNDER ARREST
TRAGEDY IN SHIP OP WAR SHORE POLICE KEPT OUT (Reed. May 4, 9 a.m.) BRISBANE,.May 4. A 19-year-old seaman is under "naval arrest" in connection with the death reported yesterday of a seaman named Dickenson, who is alleged to have been shot fatally in the temple while lying in his bunk aboard the warship Dorsetshire. The ship's commander is understood to have prevented Queensland detectives from intervening, or even- investigating the shooting,..on,, the ground that it occurred on the high seas and was outside the jurisdiction of the Queensland police.
