VITAL STATISTICS
APRIL FIGURES IN WAIROA DEATHS HIGHER (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. There were 16 births in the Wairoa district during April, a similar number being recorded during the corresponding month last year. Deaths last month, 24, were unusually heavy, this being accounted for by the victims of the Kopuawhara disaster. Five marriage notices were issued by the registrar, ar increase of three on those issue'd in April, 1937. The following are the details of the vital statistics for April, the figures for 1937 also being shown:— ■
