INNINGS MARGIN

AUSTRALIAN VICTORY FIRST GAME OF TOUR FAILURE OF WORCESTER 196 IN SECOND STRIKE (Klec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. May 4, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 4.

The second innings of the Worcestershire eleven concluded for 196 runs to-day, the Australian cricketers thus winning the opening game of their tour by an innings and 77 runs. Light rain fell overnight and only the ends of the wicket were covered. Resuming'with the overnight score at 74 for one wicket Bull (25) and Cooper (eight) laced the Australian bowlers. O'Reilly made the ball hop. White bowled a good length and soon trapped Cooper leg before. Bull, whose forehead was still plastered with • dressing necessitated by the injury suffered yesterday when he was struck by, a no-ball from McCormick, punished O'Reilly's deliveries. Gibbons attempted the same thing and eventually skied one .to fall in the hands of Brown at deep square leg. McCormick, whose total of no-balls yesterday was officially given as 31, resumed bowling with the score at 104. He was no-balled once in his first over, from which 10 runs came. Play Held Up

With the score at 130 for four wickets rain stopped play at 12.30 o'clock.

The luncheon adjournament was taken and the game was resumed at 2.30 o'clock. The ball was greasy, but Fleetwood-Smith brought Bull's good innings to a close after 150 minutes of batting with 11 boundaries.

Play was then again held up for nearly an hour. Upon resumption, the Worcester batsmen played stubbornly, but the spin bowling of Fleet-wood-Smith and White was too strong for them.

McCormick, though raising his total of no-balls to 35,f0r the match, was more like himself in the final spell of the afternoon when he worked up a good pace. Only a few hundred spectators were present on the final day, which was almost as unpleasant as England can provide.
