Mr. Trevor Lewis nlane this morning for Wellington, where he will join the sta'ff of the New Zealand Royal Air Force. •
Miss E. A. Robb, of the headquarters staff of the Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, is visiting Gisborne on departmental business. Miss Robb is a member of an old Gisborne family, and formerly was supervisor in the Gisborne exchange. Mr. L. Lawther, Auckland, was appointed by the Gisborne Boi;ough Council last night to the position of sanitary inspector. Mr. Lawther is a registered sanitary plumber, and holds a diploma of the Royal Sanitary Institute.
Mr. N. W. McCormick, Auckland, has been appointed to the position of accountant for the Gisborne Borough Council. Mr. McCormick, whose appointment was confirmed at last night's meeting of the council, is assistant accountant on the staff of the Mount Eden Borough Council. There » were 17 applications for the position.
