FLOODING OF RAILWAY
NORTH AUCKLAND LINE HOTEO rNUNDATION SURGE OVER PLATFORM (I'm- I'ivss Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Railway communication to the North has been severed as a result of extensive Hooding between Kaipara Flats and Hotoo and no indication could be given by the railway officials last night as to when the services would be resumed.
At a late hour last night the line at Hotco was covered to a deptli of 4ft, the station platform and floor of the goods shod being submerged. Rain was still falling heavily and the flood waters were continuing to rise. The East Coast highway remains open, however. Flooding has occurred on other roads in the north, but there has been ho serious dislocation on the maj.i arterial routes.
