The Australian wool cheque for the 1937-38 season is estimated at £50,000,000, compared with about £60!000,000 last year. The shipments of Australian beef to the United Kingdom in 1937, totalling 1,440,502 quarters, were 30 per cent greater than the previous 12 months. The lamb exports in 1937 gave producers a gross return of approximately £5,000,000 in Australian currency.
At the wool sales to-dav 084 G bales W ere offered. A total of 6150 bales sold and 788 were disposed of privately. Shafty descriptions continued to rule in sellers' favour, with keen competition in all sections of the trade. Greasy merino realised to Kid.
