CLERICAL WORKERS
CLAIMS FOR AWARD (I’m- Press Assiu-i.-itidii.) WELLINGTON, this day. Most of the hearing of the claim for an award for clerical workers in Northern, Wellington, within 25 miles, Westland, Otago and Southland industrial districts, before the Second Court of Arbitration at Wellington, was devoted to applications for exemptions. The hearing is expected to conclude on Wednesday. It was agreed to exempt trading banks, law clerks and all local bodies in the North Island and Marlborough from the claims. Several other applications were heard and others were pending.
