Training in connection with the Poverty Bay Turf Club's forthcoming meeting was advanced another stage this morning, practically everything with engagements being worked. Royal Mimic (Goscomb) and Finestitch were companions over a round at three-quarter pace, finishing up at top. Day Nurse (Martin) went a round at strong half-pace. This filly has come on very well. Rana (Dornan) was responsible for a strong round, finishing up fast. The bay colt is now approaching his best form. Bothwel! (Redstone) ran six furlongs in 1.20 2-s—a moderate effort. Hinepit (Redstone) and Perfect Lady (Lorigan) were given two rounds at a slow half-pace. Marching On (Docker) was given his first exercise since arriving from Hastings, his task being of an easy character. The Ace —Multivious colt (Donelly) ran six furlongs in 1.21, the iasl five taking 1.6. Head Shepherd (Zuppicich) and Guiding Light (Lorigan) ran four furlongs in 52 3-ssec. Mahaka (Donelly) and Cherry Girl's colt (Zuppicich) went two rounds .at a slow half-pace. Sunny Roe’s fillv (Redstone) had an advantage all the way over Kitchenette (Lorigan) over three furlongs in 36 2-sscc. Red Hunting (Woods) did his work nicely on the plough at a slow halfpace. Nordica’s filly (Feas.v) sprinted down the straight in a very pleasing style. Legatee (Feasy( went the last five of six furlongs in 1.4 3-5, his effort being satisfactory. Quilp (Dornan) ran three furlongs in 37 4-s?ee.. going in a very impressive fashion. Defray (Davis) and Singing Gold (Dunn) ran three furlongs in 39sec. Both could have done better. Quaint (Dunn) and Minnow (Kellott) both moved well over two strong rounds at half-pace. Bold Step (Turnbull, jun.) and Sly Vox (Mclntosh) both hit out well over two strong rounds. Skyway (Dunn) and Flying Comedy (Kellett) went two rounds at a strong half-pace on the course proper. Brown Lap (Russell) went a working gallop over six furlongs in 1.21. Peter Beekforri (Turnbull, jun.) was given two rounds at a slow halfpace. Ponnycomequick (Kellett) and Bing Bov (Russell) wore given two rounds at a strong half-pace. Ua-Ia and Thu were worked on the hurdle track, both doing light tasks. Hunting Royal (Kerr) was given a light task. The black colt has contracted a cold since arriving from Hastings. Illinois (W. Smith) was given two rounds at a slow half-pace, moving very well. Emblazon (Russell) had a slight advantage over Defora (Feas.v) over three furlongs in 38scc.
