OHIRLEY TEMPLE is to make a new version of "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm,” one ol' Mary Pickford’s old silents.

JOAN FONTAINE has been chosen as Fred Astaire’s leading lady in “Damsdl In Distress,” after only three minor film appearances. She is Olivia de Havilland’s younger sister.

THE third picture in which Deanna Durbin will star—the second one is ‘TOO Men and a Girl,” now in pro-duction-will be a sequel to her first starring picture, “Three Smart Girls,” which won her universal acclaim. The title probably will be “Three Smart Girls Go To Town.”

AN exciting trip along the famous Atlantic City boardwalk will be given to audiences who view “Meet the Missus,” in which Helen Broderick and Victor Moore have the leading roles. It is a farce revolving around a housewife who wins a national contest to select the outstanding housekeeper of the country.

DETER LORRE is under the constant 1 care of medical men, and at present a guest in his home is Dr. Goldhammer, a famous Viennese psychiatrist. When Lorre’s studio wants him, they call his valet at home; the valet rings Lorre’s agent; the agent calls the actor’s doctor; and the doctor locates Lorre, who then rings his studio.

TYRONE POWER is growing a 1 moustache for his next picture, “In Old Chicago.”

THE Los Angeles Court has granted the request of Melvyn Douglas Hesselberg and Helen Gahagan Hesselberg to legalise their names as Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Douglas.

THE start of production on “It’s Love 1 I’m After" marked a reunion ef George Barbier and Valeria Bergere, both cast in the picture. The last time these two played together was 30 years ago on the stage.

pAST of the stars in the title roles of “Wife, Doctor, and Nurse” has been completed. Virginia Bruce, Warner Baxter, and Loretta Young will head the cast, but no announcement has been made as to which of the two feminine stars will be “the wife” and which “the nurse.”
