JEAN BATTEN'S BID
MAY START SATURDAY RECORD FLIGHT EFF.ORT (Reed. Oct. 13, noon.) SYDNEY, Oct. 13. The New Zealand flyer, Miss Jean Batten, hopes that the weather conditions will permit her leaving Darwin on Saturday morning on her attempt to set a new record for the solo flight to England. She will carry emergency rations sufficient for 14 days in case she is forced down in some isolated spot.
