The Duke admired clothes manufactured from wood pulp. The Duke signed his name in the visitors' book: •'Edward Herzogin von Windsor." The Duchess signed: "Wallis Herzogin von Windsor." The Duke lifted an arm in the Nazi salute several times when acknowledging .salutes and "heils" from the crowd outside the Kaiserhof Hotel.
