SHEEPSKIN VALUES EASE SALE IN GISBORNE 1 FULL CLEARANCE MADE A full clearance was made of sheepskins offered by the Gisborne Woolbrokers* Association at yesterday's sale, which included 80 bales of wool oddments and crutchings, 4946 tsheepskins and 450 hides. Values for skins followed the decline at the- recent Wellington sale, and were perhaps even slightly lower than on the WelliSfton basis. Prices were considerably lower than at the previous Gisborne sale. Quotations for sheepskins were:— Halfbred, to 113 d; good full-woolled crossbred, fine, to 113 d; medium, lid; coarse, 10*d; three-quarter woolled, medium to" coarse, 9Jd to lOJd; first dead wool, to 9id. Wool sold up to expectations. Crutchings were a little down on previous rates, and sold up to 13d.

TE PUKE CATTLE PAIR SLIGHT EASING IN VALUES At a cattle fair at Te Puke on Monday about 1000 head were penned, "practically the whole yarding being disposed of under the hammer. Although the bidding was keen throughout the sale, prices were slightly below those ruling in the early part of the spring. This was particularly noticeable in the yearling section, and i s probably accounted for by the dry spell Deing experienced in this, as well as neighbouring districts. the Waikato district was well represented by buyers, and a large number of cattle were purchased by the fanners from that district. The following are some of the prices realised: —Heavy fat cows, £7 12s 6d to £9 ss; jjjedium fat cows, £5 4s to £6 15s; lighter, £4 5s to £4 lis; three-year-old forward conditioned Polled Angus steers, £9 Is to £9 12s; two-year Polled Angus and Hereford steers, £7 10s to £8 13s; smaller two-year-steers, £6 5s to £7; threes-year Friesian steers, £7 to £7 9s; good quality Polled Angus yearling steers, £6 3s to £6 10s; other Polled Angus yearling steers, £5 2s to £5 8s; good quality Hereford yearling steers, £5 8s to £6 7s; Polled Angus yearling heifers, £4 13s to £5 4s; small yearling heifers, £3 13s; good Polled Angus cows and calves, £8 3s; other cows and calves, £4 5s to £6 9s; empty two-year Jersey heifers, £4 to £5 2s; smaller, £3 to £3 15s; good quality Jersey yearling heifers, £4 5s to £4 15s; smaller, £2 13s to £4; store cows, £3 5s to £4; boner cows, 30s to £3 12s Od; potter bulls, £4 to £G; Ayrshire bulls, to £5.

MASTERTON FAIR ABERDEEN ANGUS CATTLE The annual sale of Polled Angus bulls on behalf of Messrs. H. T. Hume and R. R. Burling was conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, at Masterton on Monday. Prices were well in excess of those realised at last year's sale. Bulls were purchased by West Coast, Te Puke, Whakatane, Pahiatua. and Masterton graziers. Competition was steady throughout the sale, with keen bidding on the betterclass animals. Top price in "Mr. Hume's consignment was Glgns., and the 38 bulls offered averaged 40gns. Top price in Mr. Burling's offering was 44gns., with the satisfactory average of 38gns. over the 10 bulls offered.
