SCIENTIST'S SUFFERINGS
PARIS, Sept. 30. Charles Vaillant, an X-ray pioneer, underwent his fourteenth operation to-day. , , His devotion to radiology has cost him terrible suffering during the last 20 years. X-ray dermatitis has gradually devoured his flesh and muscles. First he lost his fingers and then his arms, but he has not abandoned his experiments.
