FRENCH PRESS COMMENT PAPER'S CHANGE OF TONE PARIS, Sept. 20. In enumerating "eccentricities" on the part of the British Secretary for War, Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, the Paris newspaper Soir mentioned that he rose very early at Alencon and insisted on eggs and bacon for breakfast and a shave by a barber before going to "he French manoeuvres. The French War Minister, M. Dehdier, considering the article to be an insult to a distinguished guest, tcJ.d the Soir that it must be put. right. Accordingly, in a special article, headed "Magnificent and rapid career of the organiser of the British Army," the Soir said that no official personage in England has ever been a hero, so his anecdotes, bons mots and repartees may be repeated everywhere. "This is a man," it said, "active, debonair, bold, captivating, devoid to his country, full of wit and jsii-tly ambitious, in whom many see already a second Disraeli." Mr. Hore-Belisha said at the i.inclusion of the manoeuvres: "I consider that this army, which is an expression of the solidarity of the French n-ition, is unconquerable."
