TWO YOUNG GOLFERS who took a prominent part in the championship tournament at Hamilton. B. J. Smith, jun. (left), of Invercargill, and E. S. Douglas, of Dunedin, were the finalists in the professional Championship. Douglas won the match. Smith was one of the winning pair in the foursomes, when he partnered C. C. Clements. W. G. Horne, the young Hutt player, partnered J. P. Hornabrook to win the foursomes, but he was beaten by the Australian, H. W. Hattersley, in the quarter-finals of the amateur championship.
