PROFESSIONAL BOXING
SHARPE DEFEATS DUNN BOUT ENDS IN FIFTH (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. In a professional boxing contest tonight, Jackie Sharpe, Australia, scored a technical knock-out victory over Henry Dunn, of Wellington, in the fifth round. The Australian was too experienced, and gradually wore his opponent down, to do as he liked with him. Both scaled 9st. 81b. The second professional contest between Doug Eddington, of Timaru, 9st. 121 b., and Ken Smith, of Wellington, 9st. 111 b., went the full 10 rounds. Eddington, who was the cleverer boxer, received the verdict. He made good use of a left to the head and body.
