NOTICE TO ENTER HOUSE
COURT CHARGE PAILS
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day
Holding that notice had not been properly served, Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day dismissed a charge against J. W. Payne, of Ponsonby, of obstructing two officers under the Housing Act in the execution of their powers to enter a house. The magistrate said that the authorities which the two inspectors carried had been signed by the city engineer and not the local authority, as required by the Act. Everything must be done strictly in accordance with tire Act. The charge was dismissed and costs amounting to £1 Is were awarded against the council.
