CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, last night. The twenty-seventh New Zealand clay bird championship shoot, which was fired at Hastings to-day, attracted Cl entrants. The winner was Ernest Groome, of Otane, with D. P. Northe, runner-up. Both Groome and Northe shot the possible, the former winning on a shootofT. Two further matches were shot. In a sweeostake, first miss out, R. McDonald, R. Haher, J. Mills and B. Franklyn divided the first money. A five bird, double rise sweepstake was won by W. Sharp, who shot the possible, the second money being divided by J. Malcolm and B. Franklyn. At the conclusion of the championship, the trophies were presented by the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs.
