NORFOLK ISLAND TRADE

CARGOES FOR DOMINION PLANS FOR SHIPPING (Reed. July 14, 12.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, July 14. Arrangements have been made for vessels of the Royal Packet Navigation Company which will pass close to Norfolk Island on the way to New Zealand to call at the island when cargoes are available for New Zealand. A message from Norfolk Island states that the Commonwealth Government has arranged with the Burns Philpj Company to divert the steamer Morind/a to Auckland with about 1600 cases of oranges. The Morinda was scheduled to sail yesterday for the New Hebrides, but hurried arrangements were made because the Dutch motor vessel, Maetsuycker, which called at Norfolk Island on Monday to pick up a cargo of over 2000 cases, could load only 632 cases because of rough weather.
