Wairoa, the speaker said, was at the and no opportunity should be missed to push the matter in justice to the East Coast, and he desired this tribute to Mr. Corkill to be cn- ' tered in the minutes. The chairman and Messrs. Harker and Williams endorsed these remarks, all being impressed with the possibilities. A ■ survey was to be made and the board would abide by it. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to send a letter of sympathy to the parents of Mr. J. Regarding the past administration : of the Taramarama reserve, it was • decided that the board’s solicitor ■ should take up the matter with the ■ department, so as to get better treat- . ment. This, Mr. Harker said, meant no reflection on the farmers con- , corned, but on the methods 'adopted ; during the last 12 years by the departi ment.
