DOMINION AIR LEAGUE

UNIT OF EMPIRE SCHEME AFFILIATION SOUGHT (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A decision to form a New Zealand Air League and affiliate with the Air League of the British Empire was made at a meeting last night of about 30 persons interested in aviation generally. Plans were made to hold a public meeting in the near future.

At previous meetings a flying services association was formed tentatively, and when the objects of the Air League were explained, it was resolved to become part of the British Empire organisation. The chairman, Mr. C. W. Batten, said that the Government was awaking to the fact that the cheapest way to train pilots was through the aero clubs, but the latter were not strong enough to undertake training in ground work. The Air League, with the co-operation of the clubs, could assist in providing that training.
