CANTERBURY LECTURES RECEPTION TO VISITORS (Pur Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Packed halls and discussions which nave evidence of the immense interest on the part of school teachers characterised the opening sessions of the New Education Fellowship conference in Christchurch. The advanced ideas and brilliant expositions given by the visiting speakers at the group lectures which began the day provided lood for thought and discussion lor everyone attending the conference. The Civic Theatre was packed latei in the morning, first for the first general lecture delivered by Dr. Rugg on “the basic principles of curriculum making,” and then for the civic reception tendered them by the Mayor, Mr. J. W. Bealand.
