DANCE AT PARITU A very enjoyable dance was held in the Y.M.C.A. hall at No. 5 camp, Paritu, on Friday night. A large number attended, and the transport arrangements from the various camps left nothing to be desired. The weather was perfect, a change from the previous week. . On arriving at the hall, exclamations of delight were heard from all at the tastefully decorated dancing floor, the log fires, and the general atmosphere of cheer and comfort. The M.C.s were Messrs. Sutton and Rutherford, and the music was supplied by the Rhythm Rascals, under the baton of Mr. J. Worsfield. During interludes, the orchestra rendered in a very effective manner some of the latest “hits” from “A Girl in a Million.”
The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mrs. Worsfield partnered by Mr. David Tamm, and the games and competitions were entered into by all with zest.
Amongst those present were Mesdames Hodges, Quinn, Pocock, Cameron, Stewart, Monteith, Nicholson, Sutton, O’Hara, Ashe, Nugent, Crabbe, 'Sharpe and Woodney; Misses E. Carroll, Nicholson, M. Quinn, N. Nugent. D. Worsfield, Ashe and A. Neville. A dainty cold collation was served by the dance committee, and owing to the coldness of the night hot coffee was available at frequent intervals. All voted it by far the best dance of the season.
