CRASH INTO POLE
FOOTBALLER INJURI3 D Receiving head injuries when the car he was driving from Napier to Clive some time on Saturday night left the road and crashed into a telegraph pole, Mr. Patrick Joseph Brewer, Clive, was admitted to the Napier Hospital. lie was reported to be progressing favourably. Mr. Brewer was alone in the ear when the accident occurred, and it is believed lie fell asleep while driving. Apparently he became unconscious as ttie result of the smash and lay in the car in that condition till about 5 o’clock yesterday morning, when, in a very da/.ecl condition, he sought assistance. He was taken immediately to hospital. The car was badly damaged. Mr. Brewer is a well-known lullback of Hie Marist Brothers' lootball team. Owing to an injury lie has not played for the last few Saturdays.
