"FIGHT ON ALL FRONTS"
INDIA CONGRESS PARTY OPPOSITION TO NEW ACT ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE (Eloc. Tol. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 8, 2.30 p.m.) BOMBAY, July 7. The resolution adopted at Wardha by the working committee of the India Congress stipulates that followers, in accepting office in provincial Cabinets, must observe the Congress policy of combating the new Act on the one hand and of prosecuting a constructive policy on the other. The formula slates that office is to be accepted for the purpose of working in accordance with the lines laid down in the Congress election manifesto.
It is expected that the first moves will be for the release of prisoners sentenced for revolutionary activities, the restoration of property confiscated from offenders, and the limitation of the powers of the police. Saty Amurti, the deputy leader of the Congress Party in the Central Legislature, telegraphed to Mahatma Gandhi, who drafted the resolution: "The fight is now on on all fronts."
