Lyttelton—July 1: Arrived, Walilne, 6.45 a.m., from Wellington; Kekerangu, 7.40 a.m., from Wellington; Waipawa, 0.20 a.m., from New Plymouth; Pakura, 9 a.m., from Gisborne. On Monday and Tuesday tell Ormond road bridge at Mangapapa will be closed to traffic, but not to pedestrians, to allow the borough staff to redeck the bridge. The buses will bo deviated during the period of closure round Mangapapa road and Rua street. The Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, arrived in Gisborne early this afternoon, and after luncheon took a special train to Mntnwai. on route to Opotiki and Waimana. Tie will spend to-night with relatives in the Waimana district, and tomorrow will return to Gisborne, meeting deputations at Matawai. He will be accorded a civic reception tomorrow evening at the Gisborne Borough Council's chambers, in conlunction with that tendered to the Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, and later will hear deputations from local organisations. On Saturday he will proceed to Wairoa and Waikaremoana, where he is to spend the week-end.
