OVER 112 MILES AN HOUR
CORONATION SCOT MORE THAN 73 AVERAGE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 29. A speed of more than 112 miles an hour was reached by the new express train known as the Coronation Scot, on the London and Midland Railway. Thi strain will be used between London and Glasgow. During the first trial run the train made a record of 106.5 miles an hour over a distance of six miles, and for over a mile recorded a maximum speed of 112.5 miles an hour. The whole journey of 158 miles was covered at an average of more than 73 miles an hour.
