NEW SCULPTURE HALLS
OPENING BY KING TATE GALLERY FUNCTION (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 29. The King and Queen drove from Buckingham Palace in an open landau driven by four Windsor greys to the Tate Gallery, where His Majesty opened the new sculpture halls which are a gift from Lord Duveen. The King described the new halls as the finest in the world, and congratulated the gallery, which owes its origin to private generosity and the fact that benefactors have always been ready to subscribe towards the extension of its scope.
