KIDNAPPING SEQUEL

FATHER AND SON GAOLED LINDBERGH CASE ECHO (Reed. July 1, noon.) NEW YORK, June 30. Ellis Parker, a New Jersey detective, and his son, Ellis Parker, junior, who were indicted in April, 1930, on a charge of kidnapping Paul Wendel, and were subsequently found guilty, were sentenced to-day, the father receiving six years’ imprisonment and the son three years. His attorney has filed a notice of appeal. The principal interest in the case arises from its association with the Lindbergh baby kidnapping tragedy. Ellis Parker, senior, had been employed in an attempt to prove the innocence of Bruno Hauptmann, who was executed for the murder of the Lindbergh baby. Wendel, whose “confession" of the murder of the baby had gained Haputmann a respite of three days, was kidnapped by four men in New York and taken to New Jersey.
