TO-MORROW'S FIGHT
BILLY MARTIN ARRIVES McMahon due to-night Ready for the 12-round boxing bout in the Opera House to-morrow night, Billy Martin, Australia, arrived in Gisborne last night by service car. His opponent. Jack McMahon, Palmerston Nbrth, is due here to-night. Billy Martin is anxious to make a good impression against McMahon, who is regarded as one of the toughest fighters in New Zealand, for Martin wants to get the first bout against the Queensland welter champion, Jerry Leonard, when he comes to New Zealand. To-day, Martin seemed in the pink of condition. Officials of the Gisborne Boxing Association for to-morrow night’s tournament are: —Referee, Mr. F. Dominey; timekeepers, Messrs. A. Stoneham and C. O. Hansen: gong steward, Mr. G. Clayton: call stewards, Messrs. S. Bardwell and assistant: glove steward, Mr. S. Matchitt; announcer, Mr. A. S. Parker.
