TASMAN AIR SERVICE
TERMINUS NOT DECIDED SAFETY COMES .FIRST (Por Prnss Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Referring to the terminal for the trans-Tasman service, when speaking at a luncheon tendered by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce to the directors and officers of Union Airways to-day, in appreciation of the establishment of the Wejlington-Auck-land service, the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, said a decision had
not yet been made. Wellington’s claim would be given due weight, but the decision definitely was one for experts who would particularly take into account the paramount question of safety.
The part that the Government was faking in the encouragement of aviation in the construction of aerodromes, the training of pilots, the provision of radio, meteorological, and postal facilities and the examination of machines, was outlined by the Minister, who conveyed the congratulations of the Government to Union Airways.
