GARBO AND DIETRICH
CECRETS of two film stars were revealed in Hollywood not long ago. Marlene Dietrich told the secret of her happy marriage. Greta Garbo’s pending lawsuit brought to light the fact that she was once a girl barber and film “extra” combined. Dietrich considers her husband, film director Rudolf Seiber, the perfect husband, and her marriage, 13 years old and maintained at long distance — Marlene is invariably in Hollywood when Seiber is in Paris—the perfect marriage. She has been asked so many times if her marriage is “off,” and she receives so many letters inquiring about the long-distanec arrangement, that she said:— “I want to scotch for all time rumours of a rift. "The reason Mr. Seiber and I are separated is very simple. He has a good position in Paris doing French versions, and my job is quite a good one. "Rudolf is the perfect husband. After saying that, it seems superfluous to- add that a divorce is absolutely not contemplated.” Dietrich and Seiber married in Berlin when the actress was 18 years old. They have a daughter, Maria, aged 12.
