To-day’s North Island Report Blue skies were reported this morning at Napier and Gisborne, but overcast conditions prevailed elsewhere' in the North Island, with.light rain fairly general. Light, northerly, breezes were reported at Gisborne, and light to moderate south-westerlief > elsewhere. The barometer had commenced a falling movement. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were: Auckland, Tauranga and East Cape 49, Opotiki 46, Gisborne 40, Napier 43, and Wellington 44. Rough seas were reported . at Wellington and Tiritiri; elsewhere i moderate or smooth. Last Night’s Forecast • An anticyclone extends across the south Tasman Sea and New Zealand, i the. highest pressure being east of the South Island. Pressure is, however, relatively low over the south Tasman. The forecast is for winds, moderate to strong, east to north-east north of 1 Kawhia and East Cape; elsewhere light to moderate southerlies to southI easterlies predominating, but turning I north-easterly over parts of the South Island.
