ILLNESS OF THE POPE
BROADCAST CANCELLED INJMOTIONS NECESSARY (Reed, June 1, noon) HOME, May 31. With special permission of his medical advisers the Pope, who is 80 years of age to-day, celebrated Mass in a flower-filled chapel. It is reported that the Pope fainted this afternoon and was unconscious for 20 minutes. He recovered after injections had been administered. Ilis inauguration of the academy ol sciences and also his birthday broadcast were cancelled.
