Some time ago under judgments for unpaid rate accounts the Wairoa Borough Council caused to he submitted to auction a number of properties, and at the last meeting the result was officially announced by the finance committee : Purchased by private parties.—Five at a total of £166. Purchased by the borough for housing purposes.—Eleven at a total of £129 10s. Purchased by the borough for road protection.—One section, £lO. Purchased liv the borough for swimming baths.—One section, £45.
