MRS. PUTNAM'S PLAN REVERSAL OF ROUTE MIAMI, May 29. The American aviatrix, Mrs. Amelia Enrhart Putnam, announced to-day that she hopes to restart her round-the-world flight following the equator line on Monday or Tuesday, but is reversing the route in order to encounter more favourable weather. A navigator will accompany her for the entire journey, the stages of which will include San Juan, Puerto Rico, Paramaribo, Dutch ‘Guiana, Natal, Dakar, Aden, Karachi, India, Port Darwin, Howland Island, Honolulu, and Oakland. GLIDING RECORD CLAIM BY GERMAN BERLIN, May 30. Ernst Jaehtnmnn, a gliding instructor, glided for 40 hours 43 minutes. This is claimed as a world record.
