BUSINESS COMMUNITY
APPEAL FOR SUPPORT NATIONAL M EMORIAL FUND (Sppcial to tho Herald.) . WELLINGTON, this day. A strong appeal for support from the business community for the King George V national memorial funds has been made by tlie- president of the Associated "Chambers of Commerce. Mr. M. O.'C McCa.nl, who writes as follows; —■ "The business community ol" New Zealand is noted for its generous response to appeals for help to all worthy objects. "\\] asking business men to support the King Oeorge V memorial fund. I do so in the sure knowledge that it will present a double appeal to them. First., a desire worthily to commemorate their loyally and affection for the late King George V and, secondly, a wish to establish a memorial of such a nature as he would approve. The reign of King ■George V was beset with many difficulties, but. throughout, bis iirst thought was ever the welfare of Ins subjects. I am sure we could not more fittingly perpetuate so fragrant a memory of duty and affection than by adopting the proposal of the Prime Minister and permanently endowing four children's health camps in the Dominion."
