General approval of the operation of the ICxporl Marketing Act, in its relation lo dairy produce is expressed in tin' annual report of the South Island Dairy Association, which will he presented to tin- animal meeting of I hat bodv in Dunedin on .lime ID.
On the subject of guaranteed prices, lhe report, reserves its judgment, on Ihe ground that, it is 100 early yet, lo determine whether its effect, on the dairy industry has been beneficial or otherwise.
Tiic report slates that, so far as the actual marketing of the produce is concerned, the association is of the opinion that I lie system which is now followed is a decided improvement on past methods. 'lt is practically the same system as was recommended by the Dairy Board and endorsed by tin- industry at the Dominion conference held in Wellington in September of 1535." says the report. "The association believes that the new method lias the full approval and support of Ihe distributing agents in Britain and the trade generally, and thai il would be a big mistake to'revert back to the haphazard methods that were Formerly practised."
